Karaikudi chutney

Karaikudi chutney
Recently sis-in-law was here for her vacation and I made her to cook few tasty recipes…. Wow! Mouth watery! But my foodie was around to empty it. Got this recipe from her who copied this from her neighbor aunt and we clubbed our uniqueness of seasoning chutney which is not done in karaikudi.

Ingredients:
Ginger – chopped 1 tbsp
Garlic – chopped 1 tbsp
Onion – sliced, 2-3 nos
Tomato – sliced, 2 nos
Coconut grated – 1 cup
Moong dal – 1 tbsp
Toor dal – 1 tbsp
Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Salt – for taste
Oil – as required
Curry leaves

Method:
Heat oil in a pan – fry garlic and ginger until it gets cooked.
Add chopped onions with a pinch of salt and fry till it goes transparent. Add chopped tomatoes and allow to cook. Once cooked add grated coconut mix well – add chilli powder to it and grind well in a mixer to form a paste.

Karaikudi chutney is ready to serve with dosas and idilis.
